The Foundation
As a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, our goal is to generate funds through individual giving and planned fundraising activities. Our major fundraising event is the annual Silver Spurs Gala, from which come the majority of our grant monies.

Since it’s inception in 1987, The Cancer Research Foundation of North Texas has raised over $2.35 million. Grants have been made to North Texas doctors and researchers whose focus is cancer treatment, prevention and education. Funds have also been used to purchase cancer treatment and diagnostic equipment for local hospitals, a suite at the Ronald McDonald House in Fort Worth, which provides housing for families of children receiving bone marrow transplants and a mobile mammogram unit for John Peter Smith Hospital. Grants have also been made for one week camping experiences at Camp Esperanza and Camp Sanguinity for pediatric oncology patients.
